New "Improved" I&J Big Beefers
(too old to reply)

I used to like to keep a box of I&J Big Beefers in the freezer for
when I needed a tasty hamburger fix. They were 100% Australian beef.

They disappeared off supermarket shelves for a few months, much to my
dismay, but recently made a reappearance...

Now they have been "improved"....but bulking them up with soy protein
and other cheap grain filler.

You can taste the difference: where in the past they actually tasted
like BEEF, now they have like a nutty/sawdusty flavour... Bleuggh!

The ONLY thing that has been improved is JR Simplot's profit
margins...

I'm pissed off!

So how hard is it to get a few kilos of good beef and make a batch just how
you like 'em ??

Dead simple.

The difficult part is making sure other members of the household don't
take it and use it for other things...

I love those cheap "past-the-use-by-date" places.

Entire crates of rancid cordial for $5; big bags of pork and mint sauce
flavoured chips for $1, etc.

And what about the really poor people, who can't afford it? It's so unfair!
