PURCHASING / STORING

Shaoxing wine is widely available in Asian markets and some
supermarkets. It's often confused with saké and mirin but saké (a
Japanese rice-based brewed alcohol) is far more delicate in taste.Mirin
is sweetened saké, made for cooking. Substitute dry pale sherry if you
can't find it.

Thanks, but I know what it is; I'm looking for a place that sells it online.
None of the big supermarkets in Brissie (like Coles @ Chermside) sell it,
and Chinatown is a PITA.

Northside. Sunnybank would be a good place to try for Southsiders though,
with its large Asian population.

I used to make purchase near Chermside but it's been a while , I suggest
a look in the yellow pages or where there is a concentration of the
customer base.

Well I couldn't find it online, but I bought it from a regular supermarket
(in the Chinatown valley mall), so I don't think they would've had a liquor
license. I don't know why it's so difficult to find.
