It's cold weather here in Melbourne finally. I need some inspiration.
What are some good tasty meals you pull together on these sorts of nights?

I've been making soups with leftover vegies and dry goods. And stews with
home-made stock. Pasta dishes are also good in winter, especially baked
ones like lasagne or pastitsio. Hmmm, what else... oh, curries! Fabulous
for winter, a nice curry. And toasted sandwiches are always good value.
Maybe a roast dinner with all the trimmings when you get time (depends if
by "quick" you mean quick to prepare or quick to cook). Um... pies! And
various sticky puddings for dessert. That's about all I can think of
atm...

Sounds do-able. Are they with the soft wraps or the hard shells?
I'd do it with a mild chille con carne I think. We eat way too much chicken
some weeks.

Stir-fry, if you want speed. Or pasta.

Or get out your slow cooker and make a stoo.

Hmm. I've been making a fair bit of cauliflower and/or broccoli soups
lately... I often throw in fresh asparagus as well if it is cheap (which
it has been here). I keep the asparagus tips and add them after
blending everything else. Pretty quick and easy to put together if you
have a blender. Many versions available via Google...

Also, what about chicken breast fillets with a pesto filling, wrapped in
proscuitto? Just cut a pocket in the breast and fill it with pesto, then
wrap each fillet in two to three thin slices of proscuitto.
Whack 'em in the oven for 20 minutes and theyre done. I've found these
survive freezing quite okay, so its easy to make an extra lot and freeze
them. After the first time, it's very quick and easy to prepare this...
making the pesto takes a couple of minutes all up, with a processor or
blender.

If you don't like Pesto, there's plenty of other easy to make fillings.

Stir Fry is good, you can throw in whatever vegetables you have handy (or
whatever the supermarket has available). Just don't put as much chili in as
I did last time I made one :)
