per the pie on the cover of delicious this month, we made a beef casserole,
using harissa.

you cook the casserole, (done) then add olives, sundried tomatos and mint,
add a pastry lid, some caramelised onions on the pastry alsmost just as
garnish then cook some more.

my other half and i are debating as to whether this cass component is too
spicy to feed to our guests. Lets say we thought it was, what could we do
to tone it down?

any thoughts appreciated

It looks like the "hot" might make it unpalatable to many .

Use less of the harissa paste and substitute tomato paste and paprika (sweet
not hot). Serve with side dishes such as chopped de-seeded cucumber in greek
yogurt and a greek style salad (mixed salad leaves, tomato, olives,
cucumber, radish, cubes of a good quality feta, sprinkled with chopped mint,
oregano and an olive oil/vinegar dressing with a dash of balsamic vinegar)

as it happens, it turned out ok. I used half the harrissa per the recipe. I
was thinking about the yoghurt, thanks for your thoughts
