Made a banana loaf this afternoon, but life was a bit hectic and I didn't
skewer it before taking it out of the oven. It has now flopped, but I am
thinking it'll make a lovely dessert if smothered in something like hot
chocolate sauce.

Be nice with custard poured all over it - if you like custard

I love custard, but DH does not!

I used the following recipe. Note that it must be used straight away or it
sets, like icing. And it was made of things that I had in the house.

30g butter
3 tblsp cocoa
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup milk

Melt butter. Remove from heat and add cocoa and sugar. Return to heat and
stir in milk. Bring to boil and simmer 3 mins. Serve immediately.

This was enough for 2 adults and a 4yo. Actually, it wasn't quite enough, but
that is the way of chocolate sauce, I notice...

I've found this one works well

450g dark cooking chocolate
1 cup milk
1/2 cup thickened cream

Melt the dark cooking chocolate in a double boiler over simmering water.
When the chocolate is completely melted and warm, remove from double boiler.
Add milk and thickened cream. Stir into the chocolate until combined. If
chocolate sauce begins to thicken after combining the ingredients, return to
the double boiler and stir over low heat.

Cheers
